Hey all!
So you know how last week was Elder Adams 2.0? I kinda do feel like a
different person. Like Elder Adams is a different person than Hayden.
In good ways! People keep thanking me for being endlessly cheerful and
I'm like "???" I don't even know how it's happening. But hey it's not
bad so I won't complain.
Sunday meetings are kinda odd compared to at home. We're still busy
and everything is out of order. We sang with the choir, which means we
got to sing with the Nashville Tribute Band! Which was cool and they
were awesome and spiritual, but I never want to see them again because
I cried too much ;P
This week has been way busier. Lots and lots of practicing teaching
and learning. But we also got TRC investigators! Lisa is very...
normal. She's interested in getting doctrine and just kinda gets it
when we teach. But Braulio! Ah Braulio. He's from Peru and has a super
thick accent, but he's awesome and we love him. The first time we
taught him he didn't believe in personal revelation and didn't totally
want to listen, but now he's passionately studying the Book of Mormon!
The Spirit seriously change people, investigators and missionaries
alike. Braulio is super attached to Elder Johnson, it's really funny.
Monday was hard because the people we taught were kinda hard to get
through to and bring the spirit to, but it eventually happened. But
Tuesday! Oh Tuesday! Things went awesome and We had a devotional from
Elder (Brother?) Condie! It was spiritual and funny and deep and
simple all at the same time. My favorite was "The Spirit is so strong
here I could get inspired from reading the phone book."
Wednesday and Thursday were very ordinary. Yep.
Elder Johnson and I are a good companion pair, we've go lots in
common. We teach really different though. He's more like Moroni while
I'm more like Mormon. I like the details and teaching with evidence
along with the Spirit but he's like "look the only thing that'll
convince you is the spirit." But we work together well.
Elder Johnson and I have been playing volleyball like every day. It's awesome.
He's great at it even though he's really low-effort. It's because he's so tall! But yeah it's the best sport.
Cool reading I did this week! The second chapter from
the teachings of Howard W Hunter, "My peace I give unto you." It's tight.
Thanks for your support everyone!!! Elder Adams
